Late Night

Cohen had a late night with his cousin Emrie and Baby Jason this week. Jamie wanted to watch Andrew play in his basketball game and I volunteered to babysit. Both Cohen and Jason are pretty easy going, but at 6:30, Cohen was ready for bed and Jason wanted to eat. Luckily, I had Emrie to get any supplies I needed. I some how managed to hold and feed both boys at the same time. It was quite the adventure. From this experience, I did learn that I am not ready for two kids that close in age even though I loved doing it. They both require too much attention. I miss the newborn stage, but I love the age Cohen is at right now. He has so much personality and knows how to entertain! Six Months and New Buddy

On the 18th, Cohen turned six months. I can't believe how big our little boy has gotten. Cohen is able to roll over...and roll over...and roll over! He doesn't stop. The other day I was in a hurry trying to clean up a broken bottle of spaghetti sauce in the drive way when I heard Cohen screaming in the house. I ran in the living room to find him up against the entertainment center. He had finally learned to continue his rolls, but got stuck and didn't know what to do. Now, I will have to watch him more closely when he is on the ground! Besides rolling on the ground, we have noticed a change in the way he sleeps. In the past, I would put him in his crib and he would scoot himself up to the top of the crib at night. Now, he completely turns around and rolls in his crib. I went into get him from a nap to find him flipped around and up against the bumper. It looked like he was trying to jail break his crib, but fell asleep in the process.

Cohen is getting closer to sitting up. We were hoping he would be sitting all by himself for Thanksgiving so I can get his six months pictures taken. I guess he will be getting pictures without sitting up. Our new goal is that he will be sitting up by Christmas! Over the last two months, we have introduced Cohen to a variety of solid foods. He definitely likes the fruits over the vegetables with the exception of sweet potatoes. I have thoroughly enjoy the adventure of trying new foods. I love watching his facial expressions when he tries something new. This week we are trying Green Beans. I hope he likes them better then the peas!

Cohen now shares his half birthday with his new buddy Jason. My sister Jamie had her baby on Wednesday. We are thrilled to have Baby Jason. He is darling! I think Cohen is a little jealous of all of Jason's hair though. I told Jamie he already needs a hair cut! I am so excited for Cohen to have a cousin to grow up with. I remember how much fun I had with my cousins when I was younger. Cohen will have Jason plus two more on the way (Baby Nolan and Baby Lilly). We can't wait for all these babies to come.

I love how Cohen's eyes look so blue in this picture. Last Saturday, we took Cohen to Grandma Gloria's to help clean out the shed. He looked like a marshmallow in his blue jacket. I also love this picture of Cohen in his new shirt. Tyler's Mom gave Cohen this cute Spanish Fork Dons Baseball shirt. We were hoping he would wear it this next spring, but he already fits into it. I guess he'll need a new one when the season starts. He is probably the youngest boy to have a shirt like this!

For JoAnna...

Last Thursday, I got a call from my little brother at midnight. He broke the news to me that my cousin JoAnna and her daughter Kayla were killed in a car accident. I honestly didn't know what to say. I got off the phone and tried to explain to Tyler what happened. It didn't seem real. I am very grateful to know that I will see JoAnna again. Jamie told me I needed to listen to Sissy's Song by Alan Jackson. After listening to it, I can see how this song fits JoAnna. It is the saddest song and is nearly impossible to listen to without crying if you have lost a loved one recently.

Happy Halloween!

Cohen has officially made it through his first Halloween. The day started with a trip to Dad's office. As you can tell from the previous post, he had a blast. Then we went and saw my cousin Lauren play soccer at BYU. It was Cohen's first game and the weather couldn't have been better for this time of year. The fans were loud, but Cohen enjoyed it. I thought he was a really good baby. We didn't have to get up once with him. After the game, we came home and were exhausted. Cohen wouldn't take a nap though. I think he was too excited to wear the dinosaur costume his grandma gave him! We were a little worried his costume was going to be too small, but I think it fit perfectly. Grandma Gloria always makes the best Halloween dinner so we had to make sure we stopped and ate. Cohen loved showing off for everyone! What a little entertainer he is! Halloween was so much fun with Cohen. He loved chewing on the Halloween treats. I think he will enjoy them much more next year when he can actually eat them. My mom didn't get to see Cohen in his costume because he fell asleep at 6:30 so I have to post a lot of pictures for her.

Please Dad!!!

Cohen and I visited Tyler at work on Saturday. While we were there, Cohen had some important business to discuss with his dad.

Big Boy!!!

Cohen is such a big boy now. He has finally figured out how to roll over from his back to his belly. The only problem now is he can't remember how to roll from his belly to his back! Our little boy gets so frustrated when he gets on his belly. It is funny to watch him try to figure it out. About a week ago, we took out his bumper pad after we caught him sleeping with his face stuffed in the bumper every night. We thought this would be a great idea, but it introduced us to a new problem. Now that Cohen can roll over, he is everywhere. Last night Tyler walked in his room to check on him and discovered Cohen up against the side of the crib. He was about to adjust him when Cohen flipped his head back and hit the crib hard. I told Tyler I don't want him hitting his head in the crib so we put the bumper back in. Hopefully this will help! Here are a couple pictures of a sweet baby boy before the BYU Football game last week. I think the outfit was bad luck.

Wedding

Tyler's cousin Chuck got married last weekend. It was a wonderful wedding and we couldn't be happier for Chuck and Carli. They are so cute together. The reception was help in Wyoming so we decided to spend the weekend in Park City. It was a little cooler than the last time we were there, but that didn't stop us from shopping the outlet sales.
