New Friend

The other night Tyler and I were exhausted from laying sod all day and put Cohen in his swing to play. When I walked into the room, I saw Cohen laughing and smiling. He had made a new friend. By looking up in his swing, Cohen discovered he has a friend who looks back at him. This new friend entertained him for almost an hour. I should have spent the time getting things done, but instead I enjoyed watching him interact with the mirror and animals on his swing. It was fun to see Cohen try to reach his hand up to touch the objects above him.

Another friend Cohen enjoys playing with is his Uncle Brock. Brock came over to babysit Baby Cohen for us while we got ready for sod and was so cute with him. When I came in to check on the two boys, Brock had changed his diaper, fed him and burped him. I was quite proud of my 13 year old brother-in-law!

4th of July and Pool Party

On the 4th of July, we took Cohen to a party at Jamie's house. He enjoyed all the attention he got from everyone. Jamie's nephew Eddie was crying and my dad informed Cohen he better not listen to that. Luckily for us, Cohen is still a pretty good boy and didn't get any new ideas from Eddie!

On Saturday, we took Cohen to a Nelson party at the pool. It was a little breezy so we didn't actually get in the pool, but it was fun to see everyone.

The Nelson's are determined Cohen will be a Yankees fan and gave him this outfit to get him started on the right path. Tyler begs to differ and hopes to make him a Braves fan. He has been telling Cohen all day that the Braves are #1, not the Yankees!

Park City

This week Tyler surprised me with a vacation to Park City. It was exciting to take Cohen on his first family trip. We spent our days shopping, touring the Olympic Park, playing with Cohen and trying out new restaurants. Cohen was a really good sport and slept through most of our outings.

Day 2: Going shopping again...Tyler and Cohen weren't looking forward to another day of shopping with me. I think the two hours I spent in Banana Republic and Gap the previous day wore the boys out.

As we were driving to the outlets one day, Tyler turned one light too early. There was a sign directing tourists to the Olympic Park. We decided to check it out and found out it was pretty fun. When we got there, the lady told us to go outside and watch the Australians and Americans practice their jumps into the pool. It was really neat to watch. The guys were amazing! I couldn't believe they actually did these jumps in the snow. I think I would kill myself if I ever attempted their moves!!!

Six Weeks Already?

As I sat in class last week, I saw a girl with her newborn baby and thought to myself how Cohen isn't a newborn any more. At six weeks, he is awake most of the day, smiles when his daddy talks to him and is fascinated by his tongue. The newborn look fades as he grows each day. Even though it makes me sad to know one stage of his life has already past, I am excited to see what new things he learns each day. Here are some pictures of Cohen from the last few weeks.

No Nap!!!

Cohen has been the best little boy while I have been in school. Going from house to house each day hasn't bothered him one bit. He would sleep anywhere he went and was pretty content. However, he won't nap for me! I took him shopping the other day and he was awake the entire time. Today, I decided I wanted him to sleep in his crib instead of his swing. When I went to check on him, this is what I found:

Cohen was playing!!! He didn't want to nap and was starring at everything in his room. I had to laugh because it was so cute. I decided that I would rock him to sleep and try the crib again instead of the swing. This picture shows how well that idea worked!

Relay for Life

On Friday night, we took Cohen to the Relay for Life in Payson. For those who have never heard of Relay For Life, it is an activity from the American Cancer Society to support and raise money for the fight against cancer. Relay For Life celebrates the lives of those who have battled cancer as well as remembers those who have lost to the disease. Each team has members take turn walking or running around the park for a 12 hour period. The relay started about 6:00 p.m. and ended at 6 a.m so it was a long night for those that stayed the whole time.

It was a really neat thing to be apart of. Tyler's Grandma Peggy has cancer as well as other family members. Tyler and I have also both lost grandparents to cancer so it was really great to see so many people supporting the fight against the disease. If the weather would have been better, we would have stayed longer; however, it started to rain hard so we took Cohen home. Cohen seemed to really enjoy looking at everything, while taking in the whole experience. I am glad we were able to be apart of this event; hopefully next year we will be able to go again.
