Hats, Hats and More Hats

This last week turned out to be hat week for Cohen. As I looked back through pictures, I noticed several where he was wearing hats. Up until this week, Cohen didn't have many pictures with hats because only one fits him. Believe it or not, his head is the smallest part of his body! Tyler found this cute hat at Gap that is adjustable, but even with putting it on the smallest size, it is still big on him!

We are so proud of Cohen. Last night, he rolled over for the first time. The camera work on my part wasn't the best, but at least it's on video!

Three Months and Back to School

Cohen is three months now. I can't believe how fast the summer went by. At this stage, Cohen can hold up his head pretty well, loves to stand with support, tries to scoot out of his little bather, sucks on his animals, smiles, laughs, and loves to talk. He is so much fun! Tyler and I love to play with him when we get home from work.

I am sad to say I am back to school. It is so hard to leave Cohen every morning. He is so dang cute at that time of day, but I love my job and I enjoy teaching too much. My students are adorable, but they are so young. I am used to third graders and these second graders seem extremely little. My first week of school went well. I have a few challenging students, but I am used to that. I can't believe how much harder teaching is with a baby. I have to leave school at 3:15 and I get nothing done. I have tried to bring stuff home to work on, but I don't do it. I will have to spend one night a week up at school in order to stay planned.

These are some pictures of my classroom. It has taken me all summer to get ready for this new adventure in second grade. I decided to do a jungle theme this time around instead of my sports theme.

The Cutest Boy Ever

Lately Cohen has wanted me to hold him and walk around the house so he can see everything. As you can imagine, this isn't the most convenient thing for me. I get nothing done when I am holding him all the time. I have found that I love his highchair because it solves this problem. I can put him in it while I am cooking or cleaning and he will watch what I am doing. Tonight I let him play in it while I was making dinner. Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot done. Cohen was way too much fun to watch. At first, he didn't really touch his toys, but then he started exploring them. I made Tyler come in the room and watch him because I have never seen him interact so much with his toys before. He tried to play with his monkey, but the monkey ended up covering his entire face and he couldn't get it off. Cohen is seriously the cutest little boy. I am dying that I have to go back to school in four days. I hate to think of all the things I am going to miss him do.

Just Like My Dad

While we were at the Nelson's on Sunday, I looked through baby pictures of Tyler. I couldn't believe how much Cohen and Tyler looked alike. Cohen is definitely a Nelson and doesn't have any Barney traits yet. My brother Jason hopes he can hit like a Nelson and run like a Barney. Maybe the Barney speed is one trait I can pass on to Cohen!

Fun Week!!!

I have to go back to school in less than two weeks and am trying to enjoy every day I have with my little guy. This last week we have taken lots of pictures and played as much as we could. I have felt a little guilty when Tyler has came home from work and asked what we did and all I can say is we played and went to my school. It is the end of summer and I have no motivation to cook, clean, and iron. I haven't been the best wife.

While we were in Heber watching Brock play, we saw one of Tyler's favorite players at the ballpark, Greg Maddox. He was watching his son play on a Las Vegas team. Brock was nice enough to get an autograph for Cohen on a baseball. Tyler was able to add the ball to his collection with his signed Chipper Jones bat he got from Gub and Wendi. I thought Tyler would love a picture of Cohen in his Braves outfit with the bat and ball.

This last picture is one I have to post because Tyler and I both looked at it and thought Cohen looked just like Tyler's brother Gub. Most people think Cohen looks like Grandpa Wayne or Tyler, but every once in a while we see Gub in Cohen. What do you think?

Cohen's Blessing

Today Cohen was finally blessed. It feels like we are so late blessing him and we've joked about how he could drive a big wheel up to the circle. Another baby was blessed today and Cohen seemed so much older than this newborn. I am glad we waited until now because more of our family were able to attend. We are so lucky to have both of our families live around here to support us in all that we do.
