No Nap!!!

Cohen has been the best little boy while I have been in school. Going from house to house each day hasn't bothered him one bit. He would sleep anywhere he went and was pretty content. However, he won't nap for me! I took him shopping the other day and he was awake the entire time. Today, I decided I wanted him to sleep in his crib instead of his swing. When I went to check on him, this is what I found:

Cohen was playing!!! He didn't want to nap and was starring at everything in his room. I had to laugh because it was so cute. I decided that I would rock him to sleep and try the crib again instead of the swing. This picture shows how well that idea worked!

Relay for Life

On Friday night, we took Cohen to the Relay for Life in Payson. For those who have never heard of Relay For Life, it is an activity from the American Cancer Society to support and raise money for the fight against cancer. Relay For Life celebrates the lives of those who have battled cancer as well as remembers those who have lost to the disease. Each team has members take turn walking or running around the park for a 12 hour period. The relay started about 6:00 p.m. and ended at 6 a.m so it was a long night for those that stayed the whole time.

It was a really neat thing to be apart of. Tyler's Grandma Peggy has cancer as well as other family members. Tyler and I have also both lost grandparents to cancer so it was really great to see so many people supporting the fight against the disease. If the weather would have been better, we would have stayed longer; however, it started to rain hard so we took Cohen home. Cohen seemed to really enjoy looking at everything, while taking in the whole experience. I am glad we were able to be apart of this event; hopefully next year we will be able to go again. One Busy Week

This past week has been a busy one for the Nelson Family. I have been trying to do as much as I can before I start my master classes on Monday. The week started out with a birthday party for my mother-in-law. It was her 50th birthday so Tyler wanted to make it extra special. He bought black decorations for the party and a crown for his mom to wear. Pat was a pretty good sport and wore the crown the entire night.

On Monday, Cohen had his two week appointment. He doesn't usually cry very much so it was sad to see him get his blood work done. Needless to say, Cohen didn't like the nurse too much. We found out Cohen has gained all his birth weight back and then some. He is now over 9 lbs and has grown 2 inches. He is one big boy! We love all his little fat rolls. We were also able to give Cohen his first bath this past week. He didn't cry, but he made a lot of funny faces. Cohen didn't know what to think of it. My good friend Sarah took Cohen's pictures this last week. She did such a great job. Lucky for us Cohen cooperated. He seriously slept the entire time. Thanks Sarah for doing them!

Go Dons!!!

Go Dons!!! That is what Tyler has been trying to teach Cohen to say these last few days. As many of you know and those of you who don't know, Tyler's dad coaches the Spanish Fork Dons. Tyler has been going to the state games this last week while Cohen and I stayed home. We knew if the Dons made it to the championship game that we would have to go...and take Cohen.

On Friday, we took Cohen to his first baseball game at 4 days old. We figured if we kept him in his stroller and sat away from all the Spanish Fork fans, then it would be okay to take him. We only had a handful of people stop to see our little guy before we found our seats. Cohen slept through most of the first two innings. When he started to get fussy, I took him to the car to give him a bottle. By the time the Dons won, Cohen was fast asleep again. I thought he would for sure wake up with all the cheering and yelling, but he slept right through the celebration.

We couldn't stay to get a picture of Cohen with his grandpa after the game because it was so windy. This this one will have to do!

Finally Home

OK, so I said I would never do another blog post, but I lied...this will be the last though. Heather is doing "stuff" so I decided to put a few pictures on to help her out. We brought Cohen home this morning and the only thing that he's done since he has been here is eat, pee, and sleep--no crying, whining, or anything else; unfortunately, we both know that it is going to come to an end real quick! Infact, we have been trying to wake him up all afternoon to play with him, but he just wants to do his favorite activity: cuddle up with someone and sleep! Here's a few pictures of the little guy.

"Don'tcha wish your girl was HOT like me?" After numerous requestes, I'm (tyler) finally posting a pregnancy picture the day before Cohen comes. As most family and friends know, I'm anti-blog; however, I thought I would appease the masses and blog once in my life AND post a picture of my prego wife...it will NEVER happen again.
